From the top-down:The teapot portion of this is a nice glazed ceramic tea-pot with a ceramic lid and matching stainless steel and plastic basket for the tea leaves. Nothing especially fancy, but then how fancy can a tea-pot get? The lid and the basket fit the pot well.The urn portion of the samovar is mostly plastic. Light-weight, but the ring in which the teapot sits is also plastic, as is the lid to cover the urn when the teapot isn't atop the samovar. There's nothing especially wrong with it, and it supports the teapot full of water, but it feels a little flimsy, especially when empty.There is a stainless steel bottom in the urn which contains the heating element. Again, nothing especially fancy. It'll heat the water.The tap feels solid, and turns on and shuts off easily with no excessive dripping. Yes, the water runs somewhat slowly, but it shouldn't run so fast that you can't control the mix of water and tea in your cup. That's how samovars are supposed to be.The cord is permanently attached to the samovar, so you have to unplug it from the wall and trail the cord around if you take the entire urn to the sink to fill it with water. It would be much nicer if the cord could be removed from the samovar.Overall, it's a quality unit and nice enough. It loses a star because of the flimsy plastic feel, non-detachable cord and the relatively high price.

I like this new design electric tea machine. It functions the same as the traditional samovars, but it looks sleeker and made from a very strong material. The internal part is made from stainless steel. Teapot comes with a strainer. Amazing. Love it.
