The Austin Air Allergy Machine HEGA Filter integrates technology developed by the military, a military grade carbon cloth for removing odors and gases. The Austin Air Allergy Machine HEGA Filter combines this cloth with an outer filter called a Highly Efficient Particulate Arresting (HEPA) filter that traps airborne particles, including dirt, lint, and hair. This combination removes and absorbs the smallest of airborne particles and chemical gas contaminants. The Austin Air Allergy Machine HEGA Filter integration design is called the High Efficiency Gas Absorption (HEGA) filter. I have had my austin air allergy machine, jr, for about 6 years. I noticed the air flow was not as strong so I knew I would have to change the filter. I found this one at a decent price. I was concerned about changing the filter but, once I got the cover off, it was very easy to replace. The air flow is strong once again and the house is less dusty. I highly recommend this machine.

This replacement filter was easy to install and is not as heavy as the one it replaced. I cook a lot, and the filters that have pounds of chemical-absorbing materials saturate too quickly in my house and start outputting air that smells like food. This one filters the air nicely but doesn't absorb food odor, thus the air flowing out of it always smells fresh.
